“And it’s Bolton Wanderers, Bolton Wanderers FC, we’re by far the greatest team the world has ever seen…”
…or so I thought. Having been been 1-1 up against Liverpool at half time and then scoring the first goal of the second half, I thought we were going to cause one of the biggest upsets of the day. Then Sean Davis does a little foul on Lucas Leiva and, having already been booked for an earlier, he gets sent off. As always, when we go down to ten men, we almost never recover from it and we went on to lose 3-2 thanks to goals from Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard.
We’re now 18th in Premier League table and, therefore in the relegation zone after just four matches. We’ve got Portsmouth away, then Stoke City at home before we face West Ham in the Carling Cup. After their antics against Millwall last week, that is one match I am NOT looking forward to in the slightest for obvious reasons.
Heaven help us…
