Down… and out.

So, it’s official. Bolton Wanderers will be playing in the Championship next season.

I can’t say I’m surprised. We’ve had a bit of a rubbish season but I still say it should have been QPR going down instead. At least our players don’t act like thugs who try to get sent off during every match.

Thanks to most of the Premier League teams for having us around over the last few seasons, not least Spurs and their fans, who supported us after Fabrice Muamba’s cardiac arrest back in March. We’re forever grateful for that but I’m now resigned to the fact that we’ll be playing the likes of Leeds United, Millwall, Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City next season.

Relegation hurts – and it hurts like hell.

PS: Well done to Manchester City on winning the Premier League for the first time in 44 years and robbing Manchester United of their 20th title. We’ll be back up there playing you again at some point.
