DANMARKSMESTER IGEN!

“Lå-lå-lå, lå-lå-lå, FC København, FC København, FC København…”

Yesterday was the final day of the Danish Superligaen season – and what a season it’s been for FC Copenhagen! We got into the last sixteen of the Champions League (something a Danish team had NEVER done before, though we were knocked out by Chelsea, even though we’d managed to hold off overall winners Barcelona earlier in the season), we didn’t lose a single match in the first half of the season, we only lost two in the second half and secured a record-breaking 82 points!

Pretty awesome, eh?

We’re also saying goodbye to most of the players, including Jesper Grønkjær (Chelsea and Birmingham City fans may remember him playing for them once upon a time) who rubbed it in against his boyhood club, AaB Aalborg, by scoring his final goal for FC Copenhagen against them, and Ståle Solbakken, who was the best manager we’ve had in AGES! We’ll miss both of them but I’m sure our new manager, Roland Nilsson, will do the business for us next season!

Tusind tak for en fantastisk sæsonen, drenge! Vi ses i juli!
